The Tennessee Williams/New Orleans Literary
Festival is an annual five-day celebration
held in late March, which showcases national
and regional scholars, writers, and performing
artists. Programs include panel discussions,
theatrical performances, a one-act play
competition, lectures, literary walking tours,
musical performances, a book fair, and more.
Beginning on March 26th and running through
the 30th, the stellar 2008 lineup includes
such presenters as California Poet Laureate Al
Young; Tony Award-winning director Gregory
Mosher; Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence
McNally; Emmy winning journalist
Linda Ellerbee;
Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Tift
Merritt; bestsellers Claire Cook, Hal Crowther,
and Lee Smith; critically acclaimed writers
Betsy Carter, Alison Pelegrin, and James
Wilcox; literary agents Mitch Douglas and Lisa
Bankhoff; actors Marian Seldes, Stephanie
Zimbalist,
Tab Hunter; and many more.
